Residents of Dimitrovgrad with a petition against the serious traffic that passes by their homes. This concerns a part of the international road Ruse - "Makaza", which crosses part of the city. In recent years, the number of passing cars, including trucks, has increased several times, and people want security.
„People no longer want to breathe the fumes from trucks. Our houses are constantly swaying because of the high speed. We want a camera because no one complies with the 50 km/h limit. We insist on a bypass”, said one of the protesters.
There is also a public transport stop in the area, the locals insist that a pedestrian crossing, a policeman or a traffic light be built there.
A few days ago, a meeting was held with representatives of the regional road department, “Traffic Police” and the Dimitrovgrad municipality. Measures to ease traffic have been identified.
