Four ministries received additional funding at yesterday's meeting of Dimitar Glavchev's official cabinet, the Council of Ministers announced, quoted by NOVA.

These are the Ministry of Transport, Justice, Energy and Government Administration.

The Ministry of Transport will receive an additional 78,689,009 leva for the railways. The funds were provided in April 2024 for a project of the National Council “Railway Infrastructure“ “Modernization of the Sofia - Dragoman - Serbian border railway line: Voluyak - Dragoman railway section, phase 2“, approved for financing under the “Transport Connectivity“ Program 2021-2027, the government press center informs. With this money, payments to the contractor under the commercial contract will continue and interruptions in the work on the project will be avoided. The money will be refunded to the state budget by June 30, 2025 after verification of the expenses incurred by the financing European program.

The Ministry of Justice will receive a total of 7,373,118 leva for 2024. The amount is due for maintenance and capital expenses, the Council of Ministers specifies.

Additional expenses under the budget of the Ministry of Energy amount to 1,905,925 leva. This money has been redirected from the capital expenses item. The additional expenses of 1,084,843 leva will be directed to the State Enterprise "Radioactive Waste" from the "Radioactive Waste" fund (RAW) and from the fund “Decommissioning of Nuclear Facilities“ (IENF). This money is expected to be used to implement the annual investment program of the enterprise.

Separately, the municipality of Elin Pelin will receive 131,500 leva from the Radioactive Waste (RAW) fund. Today's decree also provides 689,582 leva for payment under concluded contracts of the Ministry of Energy and the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development.

The Cabinet also approved funds for the payment of compensation after the explosions of October 1, 2014 at the “Midzhur“ plant, village of Gorni Lom, municipality of Chuprene. The amounts are for payment of fees due under the Local Taxes and Fees Act.

„Internally compensated changes to the Council of Ministers' budget for 2024 have also been approved. The changes are within the approved expenditures under the Council of Ministers' budget for 2024,” the Council of Ministers wrote.
