The 22nd edition of the “Bulgarian Christmas“ under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria continues. This year, the campaign is in support of children with severe chronic illnesses and conditions.
The amount raised after the end of the charity performance, which took place yesterday at the National Theater “Ivan Vazov“, reached over 2,890,000 leva, the press center of the head of state reported.
Since the start of the campaign, which was announced by President Rumen Radev on December 2 in Dobrich, 310,000 donation SMS messages have been sent to the number 1117 and voice calls to 0900 1117.
The amount available in the initiative's donation bank account is 2,550,000 leva, and 30,000 leva were donated through the ePay.bg system.
At the Christmas charity performance “Bulgarian Christmas“ The event was attended by President Rumen Radev, Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova, Acting Minister of Health Galya Kondova, Acting Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov, Acting Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev, His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil, representatives of state institutions, diplomats, donors, ambassadors of the campaign, doctors and children supported by the “Bulgarian Christmas”.
Prominent Bulgarian musical performers supported the charity initiative in aid of children in need with their participation in the concert.
As part of the performance, beloved Bulgarian songs were performed accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio with conductor Georgi Miltiyadov. On the stage of the “Ivan Vazov” National Theater also performed: Edelina Kaneva and Kristina Kokorska, Vesselin Marinov, Nikola Todorov, Lazar Kisyov and Kristina Ivanova, Dicho, Tedi Katsarova, Roberta Ballet, Quartet “Destiny“, Ruslan Maynov, Bulgarian National Radio Children's Choir with conductor Venetsia Karamanova, Gergana Karapanova and ballet studio “Saglasie“, Quartet “Belcanto“, Children's Vocal Group “Bon-Bon“, National School of Dance Art, “LaTiDa“, Trio “Fida“, Elia Todorova, “The Five Seasons“, Efemia Farth's Ballet from the First English High School, “Tenori d'Amore“, Kotseto-Kalki, Martina Tabakova, Teodor Georgiev and group „Medicus“.
The hosts of this year's Christmas charity show were Petya Dikova and Ruslan Maynov.
For the 22nd consecutive year, in the initiative „Bulgarian Christmas“ thousands of virtuous Bulgarians make possible the cause that affirms the traditions of giving in the country and supports the treatment of children.
