The wastewater pipe that runs along the bottom of Varna Lake was broken once again today, announced Eng. Plamen Kitipov, Deputy Mayor of Varna Municipality, quoted by BNT.
This morning, the Water and Sewerage Company announced that they had registered a drop in pressure in the pipe, which is a signal that its integrity has been violated.
The company that carried out the repair - "Hidroremont", conducted an urgent inspection, which showed that the break was at the point where the new and old water pipes connect. The reason for this has not yet been clarified.
The treatment plant has buffer vessels that can absorb wastewater in the event of such a problem, but the “Basin Directorate” will take samples of the lake water after the repair of the broken section.
