In an increasingly difficult period of turmoil in politics, security and the economy, disruption of supply chains and the collapse of business models established over decades, the voice of business is extremely important. This was stated by President Rumen Radev at the ceremony marking the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Industrial Chamber (BIC).
The Head of State presented the Chairman of the Chamber's Management Board Dobri Mitrev with the Presidential Badge of Honor for the BIC's contribution to the development of the modern economy, as well as for the fruitful cooperation with the organization in the interest of citizens and business, the President's press service reported.
The Bulgarian Industrial Chamber is a valuable partner and corrective to state institutions, an important participant in the structural social dialogue, Rumen Radev emphasized in his welcoming speech.
According to the President, the authority of the BIC, accumulated over the years, is due to the management and members of the organization and is the result of active positions and the advocacy of important causes for strong Bulgarian business and a prosperous society.
"Your voice is not just the voice of business, with "With your active role and commitment, you have shown that you also express the voice of Bulgarian society and provide direction for the effective resolution of public problems," the head of state also pointed out.
The President emphasized the solid expertise of BIA members in all sectors of the Bulgarian economy, their commitment to the country's socio-economic problems and their insightful vision for the development of Bulgaria. The head of state also expressed high appreciation for his active work with BIA from the very beginning of his mandate and pointed out the organization's consistent efforts for a predictable regulatory environment, competitive Bulgarian business and a sustainable high rate of development through innovation, development activity and strong professional education. Rumen Radev also highlighted the efforts of the Chamber to protect private property, which is an important condition for the prosperity of Bulgarian business and for building a solid bridge between it, institutions, education and society.
The 45th anniversary of the Bulgarian Industrial Chamber speaks of experience and authority, Rumen Radev also stated in his welcome speech and highlighted the key role of the organization in Bulgaria's transition from a planned economy to a market economy, in the creation of the first Bulgarian health and pension funds, as well as in the opening of the technology parks at the Technical Universities in Sofia and Varna.
