An elderly woman died in a fire in block 26 of the Burgas complex “Izgrev“, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Burgas told BTA. The incident occurred today at noon. The woman was bedridden, the police specified. The probable cause of the fire in her apartment, which is located on the fourth floor, is a short circuit.
Two fire trucks with six firefighters were sent to the scene. No damage was caused to neighboring apartments.
The fire was reported by residents of the block. Neighbors, who knew that the apartment was occupied by a 90-year-old woman in bed, broke down the door, but were unable to enter due to the thick smoke, the police informed.
