Bulgaria also continues to lag behind in terms of the indicator of how many times a worker can buy the most necessary groceries and gasoline per month. For our country it is 7.9 times, for comparison in neighboring Romania the same indicator is 16.7.
The Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CBU) defined the withdrawal of the budget already submitted to the National Assembly as a bad sign, because this means a delay in the budget procedure and hence a longer period of expenditure restrictions.
Plamen Dimitrov, President of the CBU: "The poorest continue to impoverish, those who consume this basket, over half are provided for below the subsistence income".
Lyuboslav Kostov, Chief Economist at the CBU: "Our flour after Germany is the most expensive compared to all other countries, cow's cheese is the most expensive at over 10 euros. There is no country among those we consider where a kilogram of cow's cheese is over 10 euros except Bulgaria. By the same logic, we have the most expensive cucumbers, we also have the most expensive oil per liter".
