However, I think that the ministers' game is not so much against entering the eurozone or that Bulgaria will not be able to do it. Politicians do it because they want to take all the credit when our country eventually enters from January 1, 2026. This was commented on Darik's air by economist and former MP from "Democratic Bulgaria" Georgi Ganev.
According to him, the "big unknown" is whether GERB really wants us to enter the eurozone.
„If they want Bulgaria to enter the eurozone, they will have no problem doing so, „There are such people“ and the BSP will have to swallow their fears a little and take notes on what will happen in the coming years in Bulgaria, to see if these fears will materialize”, said the economist.
However, Ganev noted that if Boyko Borisov's party does not want us to enter the eurozone, they will need a culprit. The reason - it will be very bad from an electoral point of view for them.
„After all the pro-European positions they have held for many years, to simply say: „Oh, we don't care about the euro” "someone else will have to be to blame," Ganev further explained.
The economist added that former Finance Minister Assen Vassilev "doesn't come out of GERB's mouth."
"I'm already joking that Assen Vassilev is the new Ivan Kostov. The only question is how many more decades he will be to blame for everything that various incompetent, incompetent, thieving, corrupt politicians will bring down on Bulgaria. Assen Vassilev is not their problem," Ganev further said.
