The "Kriviya" tunnel on the Simitli-Kresna road has been closed, the "Road Infrastructure" Agency announced. The reason is the start of lighting repairs. Traffic is being redirected along the bypass road parallel to the tunnel. The speed limit is up to 30 km/h.
On January 31, the road maintenance company began milling the pavement on the bypass route, after which the section will be asphalted. The activities should be completed on February 3. This will ensure the safe passage of travelers during the repair of the lighting in the tunnel, which will be carried out next week, the Road Agency explained.
We recall that Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov assigned the Chairman of the Management Board of RIA Eng. Yordan Valchev to urgently restore the lighting in “Kriviya”. The deadline for completing the task is seven calendar days. The reason is the numerous signals from citizens and local authorities.
The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov also commented on the topic in parliament. He explained that until three months ago there was no contract for the current repair and maintenance of the republican roads in this region. The contractor has already submitted a project that has been approved, and so the work can begin.
