The priorities in the work of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) are related to the investment program for municipalities, the completion of the started lots of the "Hemus" highway, the highway between Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse, the Botevgrad – Vidin road and the rehabilitation of the road network in the country. The main place will be on the water supply and sanitation sector, because it is one of the most problematic and most sensitive. This was said by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov during a blitz control in the relevant parliamentary committee, reported by BTA.
He pointed out that solving these problems largely depends on the financial capabilities of the state, expressing regret that they are not currently in a flourishing state. We will balance according to the opportunities we have, added the Minister, and pointed out that "Bulgarian Water and Sanitation Holding" has its investment program from sources other than the state under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and the "Environment" program. Ivanov expressed hope that in the coming years, with investments made with European funds, a large part of the problems will be left behind.
My expectations are that this year many legislative amendments will be made that are related to identified problems that arose within the framework of last year and, respectively, those that are related to the implementation of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and various operational programs, said the Minister, adding that they will be presented to the attention of the deputies.
He introduced the Deputy Ministers Vesselina Terziyska and Yura Vitanova. These are people I inherited in the ministry, at this stage we are working well with them, they understand the portfolios to which they have been assigned by my order, the minister commented.
