The potential for increasing budget revenues exists. This was said by Prime Minister Zhelyazkov during his participation in the parliamentary blitz control, BTA reports.
This potential is in the direction of shedding light on the shadow economy and using new sources, which will enable us to do with the functioning of the Schengen area, as well as the better work of regulators and other bodies, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov also said.
It is important for the newly elected government what kind of budget it will propose and defend, and if it manages to gather the support of the parliament, how it will guarantee its implementation, the Prime Minister indicated.
According to him, a clearer picture of the state of public finances will be available when the data for the last quarter of last year is seen.
These data will be clearly disclosed and will serve in the draft state budget for this year, in order to prevent similar violations of financial discipline, Zhelyazkov assured. According to the Prime Minister, in the past, expenses were incurred in the budget that were not secured by the previous governments.
He called for calm until the new draft budget for 2025 is submitted to the National Assembly.
