12 new crews and 6 "Cougar" and "Mi-17" helicopters will be ready to join possible fires in the summer.
This was assured during the parliamentary control by the Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov. The Air Force has developed a concept for extinguishing fires from the air:
"During the summer months of this year, up to 6 helicopters in operational readiness for extinguishing fires from the air and 12 trained crews will be able to be provided, which will allow the simultaneous use of no less than 4 helicopters for firefighting at maximum load on personnel and aviation equipment. In 2025, the Air Force's flight training plans have allocated the necessary aviation resources.
