A priority in the education system is the better quality of education in universities through higher motivation of students and lecturers. The requirements for them in the attestation and their academic development will be increased.
There is an agreement on these goals between the Governing Board of the Council of Rectors and the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.
Creating an investment program to improve the infrastructure of universities, dormitories and sports facilities, as well as the formation of a Fund for financing national scientific programs are among the important policies that should stimulate the competitiveness of Bulgarian higher education, the Council of Rectors stated in a press release.
They add that attracting foreign students, exporting Bulgarian higher education and increasing scholarships are other key priorities that the rectors and the minister will set in the government's program.
Furthermore, financing higher education institutions, promoting the process of developing the dual form of education in higher education, as well as sharing resources between universities are among the important tracks that the minister and rectors will work on. To the important changes in higher education that cannot be postponed, they also add the change in the duration of training for acquiring a bachelor's degree for the specialty "Nursing" and the specialty "Midwifery" from 4 to 3 academic years.
