The Confederation of Labor "Podkrepa" celebrates 36 years since its establishment. The union was founded on February 8, 1989, based on the idea of Dr. Konstantin Trenchev and his associates.
It was originally an association for the protection of the basic labor and social rights of intellectuals.
For the Bulgarian National Radio, the president of "Podkrepa" Dimitar Manolov pointed out that among the main problems now is the adoption of the 2025 Budget.
"The main problem facing the union now are, to joke, the rather small problems - the budget for this year. Why do I say "small"? Because the union's work never ends. It is located in time. We learned this lesson after so many difficult struggles and years, after so many mistakes we made, after many victories and, thank God, the union must continue to be independent, to be distant from political parties, not to be tempted to get involved in political games, because only then is it strong, and only then can we fulfill what is written on our flag "Bread, Peace, Freedom"", he said.
Today, Dr. Konstantin Trenchev celebrates his 70th anniversary. He was at the head of the Confederation until 2015, after which he was elected its honorary president.
