Svetlin Tachev: The budget is the red line for whether the government will continue to function normally - 1

The budget is the red line for whether the government will continue to function normally. This opinion was expressed on the air of the Bulgarian National Radio by Svetlin Tachev from the sociological agency "Measure". He is rather optimistic that the budget will still pass.

"The whole build-up of tension - that there is some big hole in the budget, there is constant talk about what kind of economic crisis we might get into, seems to me more like a build-up so that later the ruling party can say that they have coped and corrected the mistakes of the previous ones", explained Tachev.

According to him, however, the Bulgarian political parties are starting to take a conjunctural turn and reformat the opposition in the Bulgarian political reality. In his words, this is related to the elections in the US, the arrival of Donald Trump and the conservative wave in Europe:

"Everyone wants to be conservative right now. This is a syndrome that is not natural, as was the opposition between the status quo and change, related to a generational rift, but is a conjunctural rush to enter the framework of the new wave that is flooding the US and Europe. We see how everyone wants to be a conservative at the moment, they want laws to be created for foreign agents. On the other hand, Peevski and DPS-NN want an investigation into ties with Soros. /.../ Everyone is talking about this conservative wave. When the war in Ukraine started, everyone reoriented and became Euro-Atlantic. Right now we see the same thing - everyone who disagrees with a large part of the political forces is a liberal. This is an artificial reformatting that is used in a purely conjunctural aspect in order to catch this wave".

According to him, this reformatting is aimed at extracting dividends. In his words, this course - to catch the wave, shows a lack of political ideas in the formations themselves and that they are emptied of content:

"There are no political ideas. Everything is so de-ideologized that we are trying to use ideas and views from outside in order to be able to adapt to the situation both in the world and in Bulgaria. /.../ These are people with different political views who use this rhetoric, transferring it from the US to a Bulgarian version, which is absurd. Everyone has their own interests, but they have nothing in common with each other. On the contrary - they are at war, each against each other.

In the program "Predi visi" Svetlin Tachev expressed the opinion that this government acts a little more united than the assembly:

"Even if there are oppositions, they are behind the scenes - we do not see how the processes of communication and coordination are going on inside the government. This allows it to look a little more stable and have a vision of a coalition. There is some coordination between these formations in the government, as if decisions are made together, with everyone taking into account their interests, so that some kind of intersection can be achieved.
