Yotova: Food prices are at least 30% higher than before the New Year. People have reason to be dissatisfied - 1

People have reason to be dissatisfied with the prices in supermarkets. Especially with regard to some foods, for which nothing justifies the increase in their prices. They were imported into Bulgaria a few months ago under different conditions. Obviously, something needs to be done soon, because the prices are at least 30% higher than before the New Year. Whether it is due to speculation or other economic processes, I await the discussion and measures. This was stated by Vice President Iliana Yotova to journalists in connection with the boycott of supermarkets scheduled for February 13, quoted by Dariknews.bg.

She also commented on the prepared bans on the distribution of vapes, stating that it was "extremely timely to convene the National Security Advisory Council, because this cannot be the effort of just one ministry, institution or organization.

"A large-scale campaign against illegal trade is needed. I still see, even in my own neighborhood, how vapes are sold to children," Yotova emphasized, adding that all institutions have underestimated the problem.

"I hope this time there will be legislative problems and specific measures", the vice president also said.

Yotova is categorical that the upcoming UNESCO session in our country is extremely important.

"Whether or not this government will succeed depends on how the political cabinets will work and what the teams of experts will be. Didn't we all want to be governed by experts? Now they have full carte blanche to do it,", she commented on the political situation in the country.
