The turnover of the large retail chains in our country decreased by 28.8 percent on the day of the boycott compared to the previous day. This represents a decrease of 7.9 million leva on a daily basis, since the turnover on February 12 amounted to 27.3 million leva, while on the day of the boycott, February 13, the turnover reached 19.4 million leva.
These data were presented by the Minister of Finance Temenuzhka Petkova to journalists in the Council of Ministers. The data are from the reports of the fiscal devices of the large retail chains.
Temenuzhka Petkova took part in an extraordinary meeting convened by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. The topic of the meeting was food prices, with the focus of the meeting being the protection of the rights of Bulgarian consumers and possible measures to calm the market.
