Anton Kutev: I gave up the race for BSP leader because of the new election methodology - 1

I gave up the battle for BSP chairman because the race started as a race for direct elections, which was supposed to be in a week. The rules for direct elections are one thing, and the rules by which we elect our Congress are different. I would not like to participate in this technology. The Congress has not yet made a decision to change the statute, but it will make it. In this situation, the new election methodology is not suitable and therefore I do not think I should participate.

This was what Anton Kutev, who was among the candidates for BSP leader, but withdrew, told NOVA NEWS.

„Congresses are difficult and continue into the night. It will be dramatic. For me, it doesn't matter who will be the party leader, but whether the mistakes of the previous one will be corrected. I think there were very serious shortcomings in the work of the National Council and the Congress in the last term," Kutev pointed out.

“The BSP's participation in the government happened. Now the challenge is to get the job done”, he was categorical. “After this government, the question of revitalizing the BSP may arise, the answer will lie in the extent to which the BSP ministers and MPs will make their presence meaningful”, said Kutev.

According to him, the question of whether talks with Russia should be held is subject to discussion. According to him, Bulgaria must defend its geopolitical interests.

“I hope that the government will last at least a year, because the citizens need it. The constant change does not allow for normal political life and party life. A longer stay of this government will lead to new political projects. No matter how big they will be. This is necessary from the point of view of the wear and tear of the current ones. This is also the problem of the BSP - we are entering a situation of wear and tear. If there are no sharp actions that show what we want to do for the benefit of the people, the result will be dramatic for the BSP and the state. A condition for exit would be if there are no correct results,” he emphasized.
