This was stated to NOVA NEWS by political analyst Dimitar Ganev from the „Trend“ agency regarding the past difficult political week in parliament, filled with clashes and scandals.
One of the verbal skirmishes was between MPs and party leaders Kiril Petkov, Delyan Peevski and Bajram Bajram. „No one ever wins from such scandals. Probably emotions are taking over, there is some kind of ratio between them, namely for a form of maximum distance of “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“ from “DPS-New Beginning“, emphasized Ganev.
According to the political scientist, Atanas Zafirov and Borislav Gutsanov have a real chance of becoming the chairman of the BSP. “In this case, neither of them expresses a position related to the party taking a place in the opposition in parliament, ruining this government. The clash is between separate factions in the BSP, which, however, have the same line of behavior“, he explained.
In his words, it is not correct to believe that the BSP will emerge stronger after this coalition in the 51st National Assembly. “Obviously there will be a price that will be paid by the party. Whether it will remain below the parliamentary barrier of 4% in the vote is too early to comment. According to the latest survey by “Trend“, the damage to the BSP is not very serious,“ claims Ganev. He emphasized that leftist beliefs are noticeable in society.
