The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Georg Georgiev discussed with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan the policies in the field of security and defense, the fight against illegal migration and common actions regarding border control, reported FOCUS.
The meeting took place within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, in which Minister Georgiev participated.
"Turkey is not only our neighbor, but also an ally in NATO, a trade partner, an important factor in terms of transport and energy supplies," said Minister Georgiev during his conversation with Mr. Fidan.
The Bulgarian Foreign Minister emphasized that the further development of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Turkey in all areas of active cooperation is one of the priorities of Bulgarian foreign policy, based on a pragmatic, results-oriented approach.
Minister Georgiev and Minister Fidan agreed that excellent sectoral cooperation has been established between the two countries in a number of areas of mutual interest, and its further deepening is important and will be beneficial for both countries.
