Azerbaijan is a reliable strategic partner of Bulgaria in the South Caucasus region and the wider Black Sea region in the field of energy and has a significant contribution as a source for diversifying natural gas supplies for the Bulgarian economy and for Europe. This was stated by Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev during his meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The main emphasis of their conversation, held within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, was the opportunities for deepening the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and the high level of bilateral political dialogue.
During the meeting, the ministers agreed to find suitable dates this year for holding the next round of consultations between the diplomatic departments of the two countries, which will provide an opportunity to discuss current bilateral issues and exchange views on regional and global topics.
