The BSP congress ended with Zafirov's words: "from today, the BSP is a different party". Yes, that's right. From today, the BSP is not a party of socialists and sympathizers, but of the mafia. Finally, the backstage party has taken it over. They tried with me, but they couldn't. Now they've succeeded.
It's different, yes. I'll tell you what, through quotes from the new chairman's report. How it was until now and how it will be from now on:
1. While I was chairman, the fight against the parallel state, backstage and theft was a priority.
Now, the new chairman's report says: "the fight against the parallel state is not perceived as a goal by the people".
2. So far, we have been revealing cases of corruption at all levels. From the podium, I claimed that it has been turned into state policy, that it is written into the laws and damages the people with 10 billion leva per year. We stood alongside the protesters for justice.
Zafirov and his ilk are now claiming: "it is a mistake that the BSP has become an anti-corruption and protest party". People, this is a public admission. If it is wrong to be anti-corruption, then the right thing to do is to be for it.
3. I worked for the BSP to be an alternative to the GERB model of governance. Borisov's rule has put us in last place in terms of living standards in Europe. I firmly believe that he is the evil for Bulgaria.
The current leadership claims that "a strong governing alternative (to GERB) is impossible".
4. I have always maintained that protest is a democratic right and the BSP's place is with the dissatisfied and the wronged.
Now the congress has accepted that "the inclusion of the BSP in the protests against GERB is of essential importance for the electoral collapse of the party." Mr. President, do you have anything to say? Were the protests called under your leadership a bad thing according to the new leadership and did the BSP's participation there lead to its collapse?
5. I fought with very powerful people and a lot of money against gender ideology. The sexes are male and female. There is no third, fourth, or eighth sex. Don't touch the children. Protect them from the perversion of gender reassignment. Protect family values.
Now the new leadership has accepted that "there can be no conservative left".
6. I introduced direct election of the chairman - every socialist should have the right to vote. The most democratic, modern, European. (I learned it from Pedro Sanchez - the leader of the Spanish socialists, directly elected). I was elected by 43,228 people - 81.5% of those who voted, against 7,914 or 14.9% for Kiril Dobrev. Do you see the difference? It is six times, not on the scale of 14 votes from the congress night of the long pens, according to one of the candidates. The current leadership took direct election out of the hands of the members and gave it into the hands of the oligarchs. With the ridiculous explanation - with direct election I had sole power. How can you be a single person with 43,228 votes, and with 346 you restore the collective beginning? In which school did you learn that 346 is more than 43,228?
Tell yourself the truth: you deprived people of the right to vote, because they would not elect any of you. And on top of that, you announced that you were canceling it, because you do not know the real number of members. So where did you go? 20 people, all candidates for generals, without knowing how many armies. And can you imagine, these people will rule the country?
I do not know who is sitting on whose lap and where they are drinking coffee, but I can guess in whose office this report was written.
This was a congressional regression. Betrayal and corruption were declared official BSP policy in the report of the "chairman" installed by Peevski and Borisov.
And this was supposed to be a visionary report on industrial growth, based on high technologies to combat inequality and poverty, demographic issues, protection of domestic production, development of the middle class, affordable healthcare and a healthy lifestyle, quality education and upbringing, culture and spirituality, people's security, fight against monopolies, intolerance to aggression and all types of crime, national sovereignty. In my reports at congresses, I have always presented a program for development sector by sector for the next 5-10 years.
If there are people for whom these issues are more important, let them know that there is an alternative to betrayal, incompetence and clientelism. There are brave, smart, proven capable and DISOBEDIENT people who do not give up and do not sell out. We will meet soon and I am convinced that we can ensure prosperity and progress for Bulgaria.
