The employees of the “Fiscal Control“ of the NRA inspected a total of 56 larger exchanges, markets and warehouses throughout the country today, February 21. Control actions were carried out in 12 wholesale trade sites in Sofia, 12 in Varna, 13 in Plovdiv, 12 in Veliko Tarnovo and 7 in Burgas. Fiscal inspectors have identified a total of 7 violations, including a lack of mandatory details in the cash register, a discrepancy between the amounts marked on the fiscal device and the cash register, and others.
The inspections are part of the government's measures to shorten the supply chain and limit unfair practices in food chains. Since yesterday, 20.02., the National Revenue Agency, together with the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) and the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC), have begun mass inspections in order to establish whether the rules for transparency and loyalty are being observed along the chain of movement of goods from the producer to the retailer. The information collected from the control actions for unfair practices will serve the purposes of the draft law on the regulation of contracts along the supply chain.
During the inspections, tax inspectors require documents of origin for essential goods - meat, milk, rice, potatoes, etc., and also track pricing from the producer/importer to the price in the store.
