Dupnitsa Municipality returned 100,000 leva, also transferred incorrectly to a man from Vidin. The money was returned through a state bailiff by virtue of a court decision and is in the Municipality's account, Nova TV reports.
The case dates back to June 2024. The amount was supposed to be transferred to a company with which the Municipality has a contract for the treatment of mixed household waste. The man's account was a mirror image of that of the waste treatment company.
The prosecutor's office was notified of what happened. Councilors requested that a commission be formed to investigate the scandalous situation in their opinion. There were also suspicions that the money was missing. It came to a lawsuit.
Subsequently, the Kyustendil District Court decided that the money was received without reason and must be returned by the individual. The recipient of the money must pay the Municipality 8,840 leva in legal expenses, which he appealed.
