If I had written the budget, it would have looked quite different. I have never allowed myself to allow expenses to exceed 40% of GDP together with EU funds, and this budget is written in such a way that expenses are 40% without EU funds - they reach 44 in total. This was noted in the studio of "Panorama" by the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change" and former Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev.
He emphasized that today a "major defect" was "fixed" of the budget, with pensions being raised by 5% according to the Swiss rule, but there is another defect related to salaries in the Ministry of Interior:
"When the regulation was issued, it became clear that they were calculated incorrectly... This, if fixed, is some 800 million leva, which could go towards the things that are frozen in this budget", commented the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change" Asen Vassilev.
According to him, the minimum wage of 1077 leva for the next 4 years, funds for young families, maternity, etc. are frozen in the budget.
"At the same time, social security contributions are being raised - 2027 by 1%, 2028 by another 2%. Separately, the capital program is 15 billion. Last year it was 10 billion, and 6.7 billion were spent, that is, 3 billion remained. And now it is two and a half times what was spent. And all this was done with the aim of burdening citizens and businesses with additional expenses, not giving them the funds that should be made as an investment in the development of the people and directing everything towards construction and a capital program, which is not normal,", stressed Vassilev.
