On Saturday, the police were adequate, but surprised by the well-prepared group of "Vazrazhdane" during the pogrom of the EC building in Sofia. It is not the first time that there have been excesses of "Vazrazhdane", in which this party wants to present itself like this.
Former MEP Svetoslav Malinov made a new statement to BNT.
According to him, until Bulgaria becomes a member of the eurozone, there will be division in our society.
"Those who are against are already prone to violence. Bulgaria's integration into Europe is consciously increasing and these attempts at protests will probably be frequent. There cannot be a referendum on the eurozone. First we must show that we want to, then that we are ready. Readiness cannot be proven with a referendum.
The current government has the will to enter the eurozone. When Bulgaria entered the EU, we gave our consent to the eurozone. "Vazrazhdane" is now creating tension with its attacks on the NSI and the BNB.
"I know normal people who do not want to enter the eurozone, but these scenes do not attract them - this is parliamentary helplessness. There is a reason why people are angry about this topic - they wanted a referendum, but one was not held. I believe that the most important issue is for Bulgaria to enter the eurozone when it is ready." This was said by former BSP MP Alexander Simov.
According to him, "Vazrazhdane" is doing the wrong thing by refusing debates as in a normal democracy.
"They are blowing up every attempt at a normal debate. This hardening polarizes public opinion instead of putting a normal debate on the table. Every protest reaches a point that is unacceptable," said Simov.
Due to the third year of Russia's attack on Ukraine, an active debate flared up in the studio.
"The Bulgarian position should be that aid to Ukraine should continue and Russia should not be left with the impression that it should continue in its neighboring countries," said Svetoslav Malinov at the end.
"Peace is a current word and I hope we will see it this year," said Alexander Simov. Before that, he explained that Ukraine had no say in the situation on the battlefield. "There was mistake after mistake by the EU back in time. We were living in a bubble of lies. Ukrainian deposits will be in American hands," said Simov.
"How can we say that Ukraine should surrender - I cannot participate in such a conversation. The secret agreement between Russia and the US to divide a sovereign state. How can we accuse an attacked state of defending itself? There are people in Bulgaria who believe that we should not have given aid to Ukraine, that its resistance was a mistake. We cannot make a decision on its behalf," Svetoslav Malinov opposed.
