Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini supported Elon Musk's statement on social media that only the far-right political party "Alternative for Germany" can save Germany, the Italian news agency ANSA reported, quoted by BTA.
He spoke out on social media on the eve of the national elections in Germany and after the arrest of a 19-year-old Syrian who stabbed a Spanish tourist at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.
"Blood and terrorism in Berlin, again caused by an immigrant. After years of acceptance and false tolerance, Europe cannot ignore the mortal dangers that mass immigration brings, as Donald Trump and J.D. Vance have said," Salvini wrote.
"Meanwhile, tomorrow, fortunately for them, the Germans vote and can change. Elon Musk is right that only "Alternative for Germany" can save the country," Salvini wrote, referring to the support for the German far-right party, expressed repeatedly by the richest man in the world, who heads the US Department of Government Efficiency, created by US President Donald Trump.
