Suspected food poisoning in a kindergarten "8 March" in Plovdiv. The report is being investigated by the health authorities and the Food Safety Agency. Worried parents claim that the affected children are from different groups.

On Friday afternoon, they complained of stomach pain and vomiting, and some of them even went to the emergency room. There are children who have also been hospitalized. Mothers who contacted NOVA claim that the poisoned children are about 50. According to the director of the RHI-Plovdiv, Dr. Argir Argirov, the number of children who have sought medical help is smaller.

„There is one child admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic, another is in a private clinic. Those who sought help in the emergency room of the University Hospital "St. George" are 4-5 children. A total of 27 children had abdominal pain, nausea, malaise, "said Dr. Argir Argirov.

The two children who were admitted to the hospital are in good general condition, he explained.

According to Dr. Argirov, it is difficult to say whether it is a viral infection or poisoning. Checks have begun in the kindergarten.

“We had not received any official signal. After the publications, a team was formed together with the RHI, an inspection was carried out in the kitchen block, during which we established that the foods that are stored and delivered are from regulated suppliers and are stored correctly”, said Dr. Alexi Ahmed, Head of the “Food Control” Department at the RFSD-Plovdiv.

“There were samples left, they were taken and taken to the laboratory. At this stage, it cannot be said that it is also a matter of food intoxication until the results of the laboratory tests are available”, said Dr. Alexi Ahmed.

On Friday at lunch, the children ate soup with rice and meat, as well as bean stew. In the afternoon, yogurt with fresh fruit. Samples were taken and taken for testing. The results are expected on Tuesday or Wednesday.
