The protest shows the inability of "Vazrazhdane" to survive as the only opposition. It seems to be looking for a place among the many oppositions and probably their strategy is to further raise their price. This was stated by political scientist Irena Todorova in the studio of the show "Your Day" on NOVA NEWS in a comment on the excesses that led to several injured police officers, arrests and sharp political reactions.
Todorova also pointed out that usually in large European cities there are similar types of events. We recall that after the escalation of tension, 10 police officers were injured, two of them with serious injuries. "I hope there will be sanctions for the deputies who participated in the demonstration", she added.
Political scientist Lyubomir Stefanov believes that with the protest and its excesses "Vazrazhdane" has hit rock bottom". "The organization with the eggs shows that there was a plan and expenses made in advance. The demonstration was not spontaneous. This party is a shame for its name - our Vazrazhdane members did not die on the Balkans and in Turkish dungeons because of this. In terms of electoral weight, the formation is losing weight. Their manifestation was not democracy, but hooliganism", he believes.
Todorova and Stefanov also commented on the war in Ukraine and the US's attitude towards the conflict. According to Todorova, we are at a particularly key moment for Europe. "I hope that the new leadership in the EU, which we will see through the figure of Friedrich Merz, will realize that it must master the political processes on the continent and not leave Ukraine alone at this particularly difficult moment", the political scientist expressed hope.
According to Stefanov, it turned out that the US is not a given and this was proven by the "eccentric phenomenon" Trump. "We, as a continent, are not able to solve important cases in the near abroad. The salvation of the drowning is in the hands of the drowning themselves. In Europe, we do not offer anything, but we leave the solutions in the hands of the US. The Americans also have problems, but of a different caliber. Trump is calling Putin because he has something to offer, and Ukraine is a bargaining chip", he commented.
