The famous Bulgarian journalist Ivan Ibrishimov has died at the age of 69, his friends announced on social networks.

He worked for nearly 14 years at the Bulgarian National Television, first as a video engineer, and later - as a reporter, editor, editor-in-chief and editor-in-chief. From 1985 to 1989, he was the editor and host of the program “World Economy“ on BNT, and from 1990 to 1992, he was the editor-in-chief and host of the program “Current Antenna“, later renamed “Current Camera“.

After 1992 In 1997, Ibrishimov moved to the print media, working successively as deputy editor-in-chief in the newspapers “Stolitsa“, “Express“ and “Democracy“. At that time, he began to participate in the political life of the country and was part of the management of the press centers of the election campaigns of the Union of Democratic Forces in 1994 and of the United Democratic Forces in 1996.

In the period 1997 - 2002, he was secretary to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Petar Stoyanov.

After the end of Petar Stoyanov's mandate, Ibrishimov returned to the print media as deputy editor-in-chief and political observer in the newspapers “Democracy“, “KESH“, “Bulgarian Army“, and political commentator on the television “Europe“. Most recently, he was the deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Bulgarian Army“.

Since 2017, he has been a freelance journalist.
