Constitutional Court orders CEC to recalculate the latest election results - 1

The Constitutional Court has ordered the CEC to recalculate the results of the last parliamentary vote. Discrepancies were found between the actual and reported results in some of the polling stations checked by the Constitutional Court, BNT reported.

Discrepancies were found in 46.75% of the checked polling stations, the decision states. For this reason, the Constitutional Court instructs the Central Election Commission to establish at the national level the total number of paper ballots and ballots from machine voting found in the ballot boxes.

This means conducting a complete new count, re-determining the threshold of the four percent barrier, recalculating the mandates in the 51st National Assembly, and indicating, in view of the results obtained, whether changes are required in the personal composition of the National Assembly, which the CEC determined by its decision on October 31, 2024.
