There are serious problems, but we still do not know their scale and how they will affect the vote. This was commented by constitutional law lecturer Assoc. Prof. Borislav Tsekov in the program "From the Day" on BNT regarding the decision to recount the results of the last elections.
Tsekov criticized the Constitutional Court for not approaching the case well, as it ignored one of the requests in it - about the illegality of the entire vote.
"That is, the Constitutional Court should check all sections, not just 2204. How can they judge the facts they have not established in the remaining 10,000 sections based on this small sample. The Constitutional Court is washing its hands a little, bypassing the issue and I think this will still be a subject of controversy.
Borislav Tsekov does not expect a fundamental change in the results, the big question is whether "Velicie" will enter parliament.
"If this hypothetically happens, there will be some destabilization of the government, but I do not expect this to lead to its fall and new elections.".
We need a serious reform of the election administration, including the CEC, the constitutionalist believes. In his words, it is good to think about the idea of regional counting centers.
"I am against the idea of machines counting the protocols. Now that there are so-called printers, it's okay, but if we're going to continue using machines, there must be scanning devices to perform the counting and minimize unscrupulous human or party interference.
