The Ministry of Interior is monitoring nearly 50 sites that advertise prohibited substances, said Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov from the parliamentary rostrum, quoted by BTA.
Mitov, who is participating in the parliamentary control, indicated that measures are being taken to stop such sites.
The Ministry of Interior is implementing comprehensive measures to combat drugs, including in schools, the criminal contingent is being monitored, and the virtual environment is being monitored, Mitov said. Inspections are being carried out at establishments for minors, as well as for dealers of prohibited substances.
A national preventive campaign is being carried out, which covers 8,400 students in 14 districts. In parallel, talks are being held with courier companies to stop the distribution of prohibited products, Mitov pointed out.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is discussing weaknesses in the current legal framework - the termination of investigations initiated for small quantities of drugs, as well as the imposition of suspended sentences instead of effective sentences, the minister also said.
