The PP-DB does not have the topic of supporting the ruling majority in the event of a possible rearrangement of the mandates in parliament after the Constitutional Court's decision to recalculate the election results on its agenda. This was stated by the former Minister of Justice and MP from “We continue the change”-”Democratic Bulgaria” Atanas Slavov, according to Darik.
“There is a difference between holding political talks and negotiations and throwing in some speculation and news in the morning hours. Such a topic is not on the agenda. If the government loses its majority, the sensible political action is to resign and from there proceed to form a new majority or to early elections,” Slavov also said.
He explained that expecting the DB to support the government for any reason is an untenable thesis.
Asked whether, however, the possible fall of the regular government on the threshold of entering the eurozone would not hinder the process, Slavov said that this is not the responsibility of “Democratic Bulgaria,” since GERB terminated negotiations with them at the end of last year.
“GERB chose to terminate this negotiation process and create another coalition format,” the MP explained.
