Entering the Eurozone is more important than anything else, because it is a strategic positioning and will bring us benefits for many years. This was commented on by the Chairman of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) Levon Hampartzumyan in the show "Denyat ON AIR".
According to him, Bulgaria will not be directly affected by the tariffs of US President Donald Trump, but we may indirectly feel difficulties - therefore "we must be flexible and look for new opportunities".
The Bulgarian economy is doing well
"The main buffers in the budget that can be managed are the expenditures. There is also a buffer in the revenue side, but it is more difficult to manage. There are things that can be done. Some payments may be delayed. The Bulgarian economy is doing well. It could be much better", Hampartzumyan told Bulgaria ON AIR.
He is of the opinion that something could probably be saved on the expenditure side, but promises have been made.
The efficiency of the state machine
"Nobody talks about the efficiency of the state machine - how effectively is the money being used, are we getting quality? We are not satisfied with the quality, we are not satisfied with the efficiency, but we cannot do it overnight, nor can we do it like Musk with the big chainsaw, so as not to destroy what we have", warned Hampartzoumian.
The BBLF chairman is categorical that we must motivate children to learn a trade.
"Digital things are clear, but someone has to lay tiles, dig up the gardens. There are other things that cannot be done just by pressing a keyboard. Europe's attitude towards green dreams will change very sharply in the coming months. Adversity teaches. We have not blown up any of our energy system," the guest added.
The Green Deal is not working
"The Ukrainian war continues. The competition with China is still there. The Green Deal made the mistake of the industrial dividend going to China, not to Europe. Europe only pays and chases butterflies across the meadows. This is harmful to the development of the continent," Hampartzoumian noted, adding that trade wars always have a bad effect on both sides.
He is adamant that being a member of the Eurozone is strategically important for Bulgaria.
"The Green Deal is not working. Europe has enough good engineers. Investments are needed, but not to rush madly into projects that will not bring results", believes the chairman of the BBFL.
