Medical authorities and the prosecutor's office are investigating the death of a 5-year-old child who died in a dental office in Plovdiv. The incident occurred on Friday, but it only became clear late last night.
According to the information, the child was taken by his parents to a private dental clinic in the city center. Investigators believe that the patient suffered an allergic shock after being anesthetized.
The NOVA team managed to contact the private office and is still awaiting their position.
In the meantime, the RHI has launched an investigation into the case. “First, we will have a conversation with the District Prosecutor's Office. We have already notified in writing that we want information and reports from the Dental Union in Plovdiv, as well as from the Ambulance. So, in the course of the clarification and investigation, if necessary, information and documents will be requested, since we still do not know which clinic this is about“, said the director of the Regional Health Inspectorate in Plovdiv, Dr. Argir Argirov.
According to him, the Inspectorate cannot request information from the clinic. “Our colleagues from “Medical Activities“ will go to the scene to establish all the documentation and possibly the cause of the fatal outcome. I have notified the Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Kirilov, that there is such a tragic incident in Plovdiv and that we have taken the necessary measures to contact the institutions in the city so that we can collect more data and information about the case“, added the doctor.
