The second stage of the renovation of residential buildings in our country will not stop. This was said in an interview with NOVA by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov. For this purpose, the state provides 2 and a half billion leva in the budget, which will be allocated over the next three years.
„My neighbors right now, if I tell them that it will not happen, consider that they will almost kill me”, said the house manager Stefka Gamisova. She is a house manager and with her neighbors they are on the reserve list for the first stage of the renovation, so they are submitting documents for the second stage. “Upon approval, our co-financing was increased by 10% - from 55,000 to 77,000 leva“, she explained.
The increase in price of 22,000 leva turns out to be an error in the documentation, but even if they pay this money, the block remains without insulation. “I have people who have taken out loans and are paying interest so that we can provide them with these funds. It is not known whether there will be any renovation“, Gamisova specified.
The 2.5 billion leva foreseen in the budget through the Bulgarian Development Bank are not enough, experts said. “There are so many buildings that even this financing will not reach everyone. Which buildings, from which program, from which list, when will they have access to financing?“, pointed out the executive director of the Energy Efficiency Center “EnEffect“ Dragomir Tsanev.
The answer came from the regional minister. In front of NOVA, Ivan Ivanov was categorical - the renovation continues, and the funds will be allocated until 2027. “I categorically want to refute all such information that the renovation program is stopping. The first stage will be implemented with certain adjustments for all those who are extremely late, but everyone who has applied will receive such funding”, he said.
Adding that this concerns all those approved from the second stage. “They had to sign contracts with the MRDPW and from the first stage, who will not be able to complete the renovation by June 30, 2026“, Ivanov emphasized.
There will also be renovation for the others on the reserve list from the first stage. “There will be a new intake under the National Program, which will open this year“, claims the regional minister.
