The National Social Security Institute will recalculate the pensions of working pensioners - 1

The National Social Security Institute (NSI) has again automatically recalculated the pensions of working elderly people since April 1, taking into account the additional insurance experience accumulated last year.

The measure has been in effect since 2020, when it was introduced due to the Covid pandemic.

No applications are submitted for this purpose, and the institute uses data from its insurance databases.

Stanimira Staneva, chief expert in the "Pensions" Directorate, told BNR of the National Social Insurance Fund, announced that last year the number of recalculated pensions of working pensioners was 350,718, and this year it is increasing.

Staneva added that every year a larger increase in recalculated pensions is observed, and this year it will probably be the case.

The National Social Insurance Fund data indicate that despite the recalculation with additional service, not every pension paid is increased.

The deadline for recalculating pensions with additional service from last year for working pensioners is 4 months by law, starting from April 1 and must be completed by the end of July.
