„It is mandatory for the PP-DB to demonstrate what the priorities of the leaders and their voters are, and they are entering the eurozone. Leaving this government should become a priority for the PP-DB, but only with a view to the goal - entering the eurozone. If we miss this opportunity now, we will only have this opportunity to enter the eurozone again in two years”, said in the studio of „Ofansziva” political scientist Prof. Svetoslav Malinov
„It may come to a situation where we have to think about a new composition of the cabinets, but this is if someone from those supporting the cabinet decides to withdraw. At the moment I do not see a weak link, although there was friction. A temporary consensus needs to be made that will keep the ruling party in one direction. In seven months, the time will come for normal confrontation and votes of no confidence,” he added.
„There is a consensus that trust in the electoral process has been undermined. We are at one of the lowest points. Things are not so dramatic that they cannot be fixed. Right now, we can start a much better conversation to overcome negative practices”, said the political scientist.
„The point of machine voting was to make the gross interference of a human hand as small as possible. The easiest way to destroy a vote is to scratch it or write two preferences”, emphasized Prof. Malinov.
„We have gained a lot of experience where the weak points in the electoral processes are. I am convinced that paper voting with the SIC is the worst option for Bulgaria. "Everything else is better," he specified.
“We have proven abuses in this system. Progress is trial and error. Now is the time for change," Malinov was categorical.
”There is currently no analyst who would say that Putin wants prime ministers,” he pointed out in connection with the proposal for a 30-day peace between Ukraine and Russia. “The way in which Vladimir Putin approached the proposal is a categorical “no,” he commented.
”Trump secured Zelensky's agreement to peace, and now he is trying to secure Putin's as well. Let's give him the right to think that with compliments he will achieve the agreement of the Russian president. It's a matter of time before he realizes that this is not the case," Malinov said.
“I don't think NATO will trigger Article 5. I don't even expect a provocation of that, but I expect that Russia will do everything to discredit countries that have a clear course in the current situation. Wherever there are elections, you will see the long arm of Russia”, the political scientist emphasized.
”American citizens will give a clear message to Trump to stop imposing tariffs because they are to their detriment”, he concluded.
