Rumen Nenkov: The Constitutional Court deliberately created the wrong impression that it was dependent on the CEC in its decision - 1

The procedure followed by the Constitutional Court is incompatible with the provisions of the Constitution. This is how former constitutional judge Rumen Nenkov commented on the scandals surrounding the recount and verification of the vote from October 2024. We recall that this week the Constitutional Court announced that 16 deputies were elected illegally. Thus “Majesty” entered the 51st National Assembly.

“The Constitutional Court deliberately created the wrong impression that it was dependent on the CEC in its decision. It's not like that at all”, claims Nenkov.

On the case of the missing ballots:

„I can't blame the experts. They have conscientiously established what they found in the bags, where the ballots should be. There is another big problem here. The Constitutional Court's approach is a bit strange. It has not allowed itself to do this before. There are two types of counting. Here it is done again based on what is in the bags. But the commission consisting of 7 people distributes the ballots immediately after election day. Observers are present at this count. Why don't we trust this count. "Someone could deliberately throw these ballots that should go in the bag into the trash," Nenkov explained.

According to him, the Constitutional Court itself has announced that the rules for storage in municipalities have not been followed.

„I have no reason not to trust the SIC. The constitutional judges proceed from the following - there are no ballots in the bag, so these are 0 votes, which is not true. If the commission has drawn up a protocol with false content, its members bear criminal liability”
