The Constitutional Court restored statehood. Different points of view, different reproaches, different criticisms may arise throughout the process, but in practice the Constitutional Court showed its foresight, wisdom and put an end to the issue.
This was commented on by Orlin Kolev - a doctor of constitutional law, nominated by GERB as a candidate for a member of the Constitutional Court - to BNT.
"I believe that the Constitutional Court has done its job well. The Constitutional Court cannot rule on such cases without having prepared an expert opinion. It must collect the necessary evidence - it cannot rule on the basis of the protocols drawn up by the section election commissions, which are in practice being contested. He must check the authenticity and reliability of these protocols prepared by the section commissions and see if they are wrong. And then whether this mistake will lead to a change in the election result", he pointed out.
In his words, only then will the Constitutional Court invalidate the elections, which is what happened. It was no coincidence that the Constitutional Court had to instruct the CEC, which also does not count ballots, to instruct "Information Services" to recalculate the result from the new data in the expert reports, Kolev explained.
Orlin Kolev believes that just as the Constitutional Court was in a hurry to do its job, the prosecutor's office is also blocking each other for several hours in this hurry.
