The Minister of Health of Bulgaria Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvi Kirilov and the Minister of Health of the Republic of North Macedonia Dr. Arben Taravari, together with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries Georg Georgiev and Timcho Mutsunski visited the "N. I. Pirogov" hospital. They met with the medical teams that took over the treatment of the nine injured in the tragic incident in Kochani.

On Sunday, we were notified that it was necessary to provide assistance to the RSM. As doctors first and foremost, in addition to preparing to be healers, we are also preparing for such situations. Yesterday I wrote thank-you letters to those who participated. It is important for me because we have noticed their contribution to this process, explained Minister Kirilov.

We carried out a timely evacuation of these injured children and they were accommodated in Bulgarian medical facilities. We did not think about whether we would help or not. Our first reaction was how to organize the evacuation as quickly as possible. They are on mechanical ventilation and you always have to be ready for a collapse. I am grateful to the colleagues who carried out this evacuation, Kirilov also pointed out.

If we receive a request and if necessary, we are ready to evacuate more patients. We are more than good neighbors, we are open to the people of the RSM. We not only sympathize, but we put all our knowledge and skills into helping these children, added Minister Kirilov.

The Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov was the first health minister to call me, and more than 15 health ministers from the region and other friendly countries of the RSM called me. I would like to thank the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, who was in regular communication with our Prime Minister, said the Minister of Health of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dr. Arben Taravari.

9 people are in "Pirogov", three are accommodated in Plovdiv, and three in Varna. "Two of the patients in "Pirogov" have been extubated. This is a good sign and the doctors give a good prognosis for them to return healthy to the RS of Macedonia," explained Taravari.

The Director of "Pirogov", Dr. Valentin Dimitrov, thanked all blood donors. "Thank you to the people who responded and donated blood. I can only bow down and thank you. I have faith in the future", he also said.
