A passenger train carriage caught fire due to a faulty stove. The incident occurred at the Shumen station. There were no injuries in the fire.
The city police reported that the accident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when the train had already stopped at the station. After smoke was noticed, the fire department was called. The fire had engulfed the second carriage of the train. The electricity was turned off, the train was grounded, and the flames were extinguished with the help of water and six hand-held fire extinguishers.
No one was injured in the incident. There was damage, the floor covering, an electric floor heater and a passenger seat were burned.
