The National Assembly elected the new composition of the Fiscal Council for the next 6 years. Simeon Dyankov, nominated by GERB-SDS, will be the Chairman, Nova TV reports. 118 MPs voted "for", 78 were "against", 12 MPs abstained, BTA adds.
Atanas Atanasov, nominated by ITN, Bogomil Manov from "BSP-United Left", Desislava Kalcheva and Lyubomir Datsov, proposed by GERB-SDS, were elected as members. The nominee of the parliamentary group of "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms" - MRF Erdoan Ahmedov was not supported by the ruling majority, receiving votes only from Chakarov's party, as well as one vote from ITN. The people around Ahmed Dogan did not support the other nominations.
During his hearing before the Budget Committee, Dyankov, proposed by GERB-SDF, indicated several main priorities for the structure that he would work for if elected as its head, among which is upholding strict financial discipline.
