The municipal councilors in the city unanimously adopted the initiation of a procedure for the construction of a small airport on the land of the city of Bansko at their regular session today. They approved the implementation of a procedure for partial amendment of the General Development Plan for the terrain in the Kerandzhiytsa area. This is the next step in the implementation of the project for the construction of a small airport on the land of the city of Bansko, after a public discussion and coordination with the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water (RIOSV) was held.
During the session, municipal councilor Georgi Glavchev recalled that on March 6, the public discussion of the Project for Partial Amendment of the General Development Plan of the Municipality of Bansko for part of the city's land took place at the Tourist Information Center in Bansko, and the goal of the project is to create an opportunity for the construction of an airport for small aircraft, with a runway length of up to 800 meters, as well as a helipad. The project is of strategic importance for the city, as it will improve transport accessibility, promote economic development and tourism, and provide critical infrastructure for emergency assistance and medical evacuations.
With 16 votes "in favor", the councilors in the Municipal Council agreed to provide financial assistance to the territorial organization of the Union of the Blind. The financial assistance granted in the amount of 700 leva is to support the organization in Razlog. The amount will be provided from the budget of the Bansko Municipality for 2025, as the municipality has allocated amounts to support the union in previous years. The financial assistance will be used to purchase food and materials related to the Easter holidays.
