Peevski sets the agenda that he wants to be heard and repeated. We are in a situation like during the assembly and I wonder why we don't hear any explanation from the other political entities. Why are they silent? BSP and ITN?
This was said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio by political scientist Atanas Radev.
"It is very interesting what is happening in the political parties. Could it be that the other political leaders are not looking after their parties? Because we remember very well how Slavi Trifonov pulled the switch on the quadruple coalition. Currently, we are not witnessing such behavior by the ITN."
The significant shift in the layers of the party system brings back the "WHO" model. Peevski appears as a lifeline to hold the government together. The question is who will oppose this, the political scientist believes. Trust in institutions and in the way politics is done further shakes the situation, he reports.
The DPS-DPS are a real coalition partner, but in fact they are not, Radev emphasized. According to him, the question is whether their participation in the government is fruitful and whether they manage to realize a political dividend. He reminded that when the DPS-DPS supported the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet, they were supposed to have regional governors, at one point they wanted deputy ministers, which was not satisfied, and their candidates for the regulators were not elected either.
"In this parliament, in its current configurations, there are many opportunities to push through specific decisions. It depends on the PP-DB. We can expect reasonable behavior from them. It is up to them whether they will hold the position until the convergence report and Bulgaria's admission to the eurozone. The vote of no confidence is not such a significant issue at the moment," commented Atanas Radev on the "Predi vissi" program.
