Dramas with heating: An entire entrance in Sofia received higher bills for lower consumption

"Toplofikatsiya Sofia", which is also the heating accountant in this case, confirmed that the total heat meter at the entrance is reported monthly, but that the invoices for individual apartments are based on a forecast from last year, to which a coefficient for the outside temperature and the number of working days at the subscriber station is added. When the adjustment is made, it will become clear whether anyone has overpaid.

Dramas with heating: An entire entrance in Sofia received higher bills for lower consumption - 1

A curious case with the February heating bills in Sofia. An entire entrance received higher bills for lower consumption, reported by the general heat meter, reports BNT. The explanation that the consumers received from "Toplofikatsiya" is that it was colder, although people regulate the temperature themselves to save.

From "Toplofikatsiya Sofia" commented to BNT that there will be an equalization at the end of the heating season and it is normal for bills to be higher due to the lower temperature, despite the heat meter readings.

For ten years, Stoyanka Chavdarova has been a house manager at the entrance to the capital's "Ivan Vazov" district. Every month she opens the subscriber station for an employee of "Toplofikatsiya Sofia".

"Every month on the last day we come, he reports, here he writes down the readings and these readings always match my invoice. We have never had a higher payment reported there", explained Stoyanka Chavdarova.
And so until February of this year, when they received higher bills at the entrance, without any change in the price of heating and with lower consumption than the previous month.

"The invoice stated the readings of the subscriber station, it was exactly like that. February - 32 megawatt hours, January - 35. The amount for one megawatt hour is 128 leva excluding VAT and it was the same in January, there is no difference in the price", commented Chavdarova.

In a response to BNT from "Toplofikatsiya Sofia", which is also the heat accountant in this case, confirmed that the total heat meter at the entrance is reported monthly, but that the invoices for individual apartments are based on a forecast from last year, to which a coefficient for the outside temperature and the number of working days at the subscriber station is added. When the balance is settled, it will become clear whether anyone has overpaid.

"They have nowhere to return us, because every month we pay according to the subscriber station readings. We have an annual equalization, which is related to water meters, but it has nothing to do with heating," Stoyanka Chavdarova pointed out.

So far, "Toplofikatsiya" has not reported the total heat meter at the end of the season, the house manager claims, since they report it every month.
