Very soon, the bodies of our party will hold the necessary meetings and make the relevant decisions, according to which they will assess whether "Save Sofia" will leave the coalition with "Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" in the Sofia Municipal Council.
This was announced by the leader of the party Boris Bonev.
"Save Sofia" will not be a hostage to Vasil Terziev, Bonev was categorical.
"We will participate in reforms, we will not participate in pro forma governance," he added. According to Bonev, what makes sense is when you promise something to the people, when you have an election program and have earned their trust, when you have had the unique chance to make a real change in the city, to fulfill these promises.
"Instead of fulfilling them, we see a squirming and inability to take responsibility for any significant process in this city", said Boris Bonev.
While we are only engaged in PR activities, the real problems of Sofia are lying dormant, said the municipal councilor. "We have never been the ones who will wave reports with populist theses just to please a group of voters", said Bonev.
He recalled that back in November 2024 "Save Sofia" have set five markers by which they will assess whether they will remain in the coalition and in what form and whether they will continue to support Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev. They are related to the competition for chief architect, a revision of GERB's management, the new cleaning contracts, the Sofia budget for 2025, and the new structure of the Sofia Municipality, recalled Boris Bonev. "There is no new structure of the Sofia Municipality, the budget that was presented to us is scandalous, the competition for the chief architect has been rigged, there are no new cleaning contracts, there is no GERB audit", he said.
Bonev said that they are waiting for the result of the competition for the chief architect.
"Although we all know exactly what will happen, because we were the first to say that we do not like this competition, we gave Mayor Terziev pages of recommendations for improvement, including the inclusion of civil society organizations in the process, municipal councilors as observers", said Boris Bonev.
According to him, it was mandatory to present a new structure of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning before selecting a chief architect.
