The critical state of the road infrastructure in Northern Bulgaria and a serious delay in the construction of the "Hemus" highway paint a worrying picture for the region. This was stated by the MP from "BSP-United Left" Iliyan Yonchev in the TV show "Intersection Point".
"It strikes me that on this road, which I called the "death section", the drivers are much more disciplined", commented Yonchev, referring to the bypass road, which takes on heavy traffic due to the repair of the Botevgrad-Mezdra section.
The MP expressed particular concern about the behavior of foreign carriers. "Trucks with foreign registrations drive at an inappropriate speed, pressuring drivers. It is crazy and that is why it is important to sanction drivers on the road", he emphasized.
Yonchev questioned the effectiveness of the changes in the RIA management, pointing out that the directors of departments directly responsible for repair activities remain unchanged. "What if we change the head of RIA, and the directors of departments directly responsible for repair activities remain the same and submit similar information to management?", the MP asked rhetorically.
Regarding the speculations about "influence brokers" in the road sector, Yonchev categorically denied his acquaintance with the person Ivan Mirinski, defining the allegations as "family feuds related to the "assembly".
