Up to now, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Romania has not received any official information from the Romanian authorities regarding the incident and the identity of the deceased. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to bTV in connection with the incident with a bus that fell into the Danube River.

From the conversations with the Romanian side, it became known that a Bulgarian personal document was found at the scene of the incident. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor the case, the ministry adds.

The Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Bucharest is in constant contact with the competent Romanian institutions and receives information about the progress of the investigation and the actions taken by them.

On Monday, a person died after a minibus fell into the Danube River in Western Romania. According to information from BTA, a passport of a Bulgarian citizen was found at the scene - a 53-year-old man with the initials Y. X. B.

According to information from Ajepress and Digi24, a Bulgarian was driving the van and was alone in the vehicle.

Ambulances, police and firefighters arrived at the scene, and an emergency services helicopter transported a team of divers who are helping in the search.

According to unconfirmed information from Romanian media, the van flew off the road after trying to avoid a collision with another car and thus fell into the river.
